Week 4: 24 Must Read Books During & After (W)rec(K)onciliation
All are helpful books or content to read during and after (W)rec(K)onciliation.
Week 3: Purpose (Part I)
I was experiencing firsthand the church divided and found myself in the eye of the storm. You can only imagine how that, coupled with feeling ill-prepared for the call, created chaos in my life. Around this time, Christian artist Lecrae was under scrutiny for denouncing the evangelical church, and I was questioning the church as an establishment itself. I couldn't come out and say this. Not after all the backlash Lecrae was receiving; I wasn't nearly as big of an icon as him, but in my realm, I felt so visible that it wouldn't go unnoticed if I took a similar stance.
Week 2: Laying the Foundation
Despite having a white lead pastor married to a woman of color, she described the jarring experiences that came from the pulpit on any given Sunday. When asked why she hadn't spoken to her pastor, she responded, "I have, and his response has been, well, the truth hurts sometimes, and the truth will set you free."
Week 1: Making Room (Has Made Room)
At the time, I didn't have a clear idea of what that meant, but I knew making room required that I step down from my role on The Wretch and The Righteous podcast and fill that time with what God would have me do next. Little did I know that a few days after walking away from the podcast, God would set me on a new path, ultimately giving me a more in-depth and yet painful realization of my "calling."
